Sweet potato flat bread

2 ingredients only! but very delicious and versatile.

The most delicious flat bread i ever tasted, made with sweet potato. And believe me though it is made of 2 ingredients only, but the taste was always indulging and versatile that you can use it a wrap with favorite filling, you can serve with soup and what have you.

It is salt free and yeast free flat bread. And it can be served with curry or soup.

This sweet potato bread is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

2 large sweet potatoes (2 cups mashed potato)

2 cups flour


Boil sweet potato till very soft. This will take 10-12 minutes depending on the type of pot used. Drain the liquid and mash it completely so it do not form lumps. Measure 2 cups of the mashed potato. Allow it to cool down. Add flour. (Leave 3 tablespoon for dusting).

Form a soft dough. Cut the dough into ten small pieces. Grease working surface with the remaining flour and roll the dough into round shape and cut out a circle using a round object.

Trim the edges and set the pieces on a floured surface.

Heat a non stick pan and place one dough. Allow it to cook for 1 minutes. Turn the other side and cook for 1 minute too.

This step is optional but it add softness to the dough: Brush the bread which a pinch of butter while they are still hot.

Cover it with damp towel to avoid hardening. Note: if you leave it uncovered, it would not be soft and cannot be rolled.

Serve with a curry or with favorite filling as a wrap.
